Gender Ratio in India

In 2020, the sex ratio of the total population in India is 108.18 males per 100 females. There are 717,100,970 or 717.10 million males and 662,903,415 or 662.90 million females in India. The percentage of the female population is 48.04 percent compared to 51.96 percent male population.

*Male 70.14 crore*

*Female 64.85 crore*

As you can see, the number of male and female is less in India. I don't see anything special missing in this. But today there is a difference of around 6 crores. But if 6 crore men will be left without marriage. There's still a problem with this.

Which further reduces this number. Which is the biggest problem. Women are subjected to voluntarily and forced abortions, where information about the girl is obtained before birth.

Along with this, the cases of rape are also increasing due to criminal activities going on in the country. Which is also an important issue of women's safety. Along with this, there are stories of many people where girls are sold even due to lack of money. And they are put into flesh trade.

All these people also know that such cases are increasing day by day. Along with this, some people are also from the Muslim community. Who also does more than one marriage.

Kerala has the lowest ratio of male to female in India followed by Haryana.

Five Ways to Fight Gender Inequality

Give girls access to education.

Give women platforms to be in power and achieve economic success.

End violence and sexual assault against women.

Assure girls and women have access to menstrual health facilities.

End child marriage.

With the prevalence of gender discrimination, and social norms and practices, girls become exposed to the possibility of child marriage, teenage pregnancy, child domestic work, poor education and health, sexual abuse, exploitation and violence.
